If your property is on the Rideau Canal system or Trent Severn system you need a permit to remove aquatic weeds. The only time you can do this is after June 30. The cost is $54.75 and the permit is good for 5 years.

Create a weed harvest area diagram include your dock and a 30'X100' ft (3,000 sq ft area) which is the intended weed harvest area. Easiest is to draw it with Google Earth. Take a screen shot and send with application. 2. Scan the first page of your deed. A copy of your property tax bill would work also. (they want to prove ownership). 3. Fill out the weed harvesting permit, sign it and scan it. 4. Parks Canada will call you to get get your credit card information by phone for the $54.75 permit fee 5. Email the above 3scans to: pc.on-rc-cr.permits-permis.pc@canada.ca (Parks Canada) Use subject heading: Weed Harvesting Permit Permit Renewals only require a filled out application (and payment)- support documents and diagrams not needed as they are still on file. |
